The Quinta, 2 acres of land (8000m2), almost a Hectare, accomodates one couple and three children in the
villa and an additional
couple in a fully
equipped studio apartment (with its own bathroom and toilet) in
the
barbeque area. AND a baby in a beautiful crib, with changer and baby bath. It is important to point out that the whole property is rented to just one group at a time.
This assures full enjoyment of all the wonderful facilities in total privacy. The grounds at the Quinta Anabtawi are a special treat,
and the Fauna is varied and very enjoyable!
Please note that the Quinta Anabtawi is not a B&B, it's your private resort. Other than Homer, your friendly canine attendant, and Thelma and
Louise, who will provide your morning freshly laid organic eggs, there is no staff to attend to you. Yours truly, Riyad (Owner/Manager), does not live on the premises either,
although I'm only 10 minutes and a phone call away . I will receive you with an open heart and make sure that your first day goes without a hitch. Then I leave you to enjoy the
Quinta in complete privacy. I can very easily be contacted by e-mail or by cell phone. There is no gardener either while you are there. Gardening is performed while you are away
visiting the many close by wineries and sightseeing. I strive very hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable and private as possible.
The Quinta is located in the heart
of wine territory, Luján
de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. There are lots of picturesque
wineries close by where guided tours are available. We are
also close to the Andes mountains for hiking, fly fishing
and rafting down the Mendoza river, as well as skiing in
winter. Mendoza city is only 10Km away, a 10 minute drive.
There is also the quaint town of Chacras de Coria which is very close
by. Please surf my pages to check out the property. If you
have any questions you can always e-mail me or call me at (949) 340 3552.

Driving instructions from the airport:
Take the "RUTA 40" highway from the airport, South... On the way, you will arrive to the city of Mendoza center. Make sure you stay on the left lane, as you will arrive to an overpass. You need to take that, to avoid more traffic lights. Keep driving. You will pass JUMBO super shopping center, then a statue of a giraffe, finally another super shopping center called MAKRO. As soon as you pass that, you need to make a sharp right following the signs to Lujan de Cuyo. You get on a highway and drive approx 8km, till you get to the "CHACRAS DE CORIA" exit. Make a right on that and go all the way to till it dead ends on "SAN MARTIN SUR". Make a right and drive for a Km or 2 till you get to "PUEYRREDON" street then left on that. You will get to "VIAMONTE" street. Keep driving and this takes you to a major freeway called "CORREDOR DEL OESTE" (The western runner). Make a left on it and the very next exit is "GUARDIA VIEJA" street, you'll go under a tiny yellow bridge. 200 meters down you will get to "ALTE. BROWN" (There is a small sign), and make a right on it (dirt road) go for 800 meters on that till it makes a sharp turn to the left. This is where I am. Take a picture of my gate in your mind.

March 2009 pics from our lovely guests Weldon and Mary!
In April 2009, we had the pleasure of the company of Laura and Chris. They hired a driver, Marcelo, who has lived in Canada, so his English is perfect!
Marcelo took them to Valle del Uco for a three winery
tour.
They visited O. Fournier, 130 km south of Mendoza city,
Andeluna(highly recommended for lunch – delicious!) Location:
Ruta Provincial 89 km 11
Gualtallary, Tupungato Visits: Daily at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 3:30pm by reservation only

La Azul. (Web site with very broken English!)
It was a perfect grouping (all a little different) and an excellent day. "We cannot recommend Marcelo highly enough! (It was 600 pesos for the day for the 2 of
us-
UCO is a long drive! – closer tours are less). O. Fournier is quite modern, excellent tour and beautiful building.
- Andeluna was perfect for lunch – tasting menu with wine pairings was excellent – the food was great and we got to try many more wines than a usual tasting.
- La Azul is tiny – fantastic wines but be sure someone in your group can speak Spanish – Marcelo translated for us."
We have just received a lovely surprise smile box from Susan, our crazy salad mixer who visited us from Chicago!!
Bikes and Wines! If you are not up to renting a car, these
guys are excellent! They will reserve the winey visits for you to bike to. For wineries that are farther away, they will
take you in their pick ups and drop you off. We can make the bike reservations before your visit.

The Paris Dakar Rally is this year the Argentina Chile 2009 Dakar Rally! With all of the problems that were occurring in Africa, the organizers decided to move it to South America, more specifically to Argentina and Chile.
Starting out in Buenos Aires, the drivers will traverse to the south to Santa Rosa and then onto Puerto Madryn, then turn west to Jacobacci then north to Neuquen, onto San Rafael and Mendoza before heading west across the border into Valparaiso Chile, north to the Atacama Desert, and then back east to La Rioja and Cordoba before ending January 17 back where they started in Buenos Aires.
It's such a great opportunity to at least check them out when they return to Buenos Aires whether you live in Buenos Aires or will simply be visiting.
For more details on the Rally, visit their website here.

December 9, 2008. I would like to officially introduce one of my key management teams.
Here is our, now very popular, Homer and his new recruit, Bart.
Homer is now our Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO)
and Bart is our Assistent Public Relations Manager (APRM).
As you can see, there seems to be a harmonious relationship between the two,
that should lead to excellent productivity.
November 2008
We had the pleasant company of Mary Ann and Gary from Sandiego, California, who for the first time in the
Quinta's history have ventured fishing in our own artificial lake! Click here to see for yourself!
Vendimia Unplugged
Harvest time has always been a time for celebration. In ancient times people held their breath and began counting
the bushels - would it be a year of feast or famine?
Would the larders be full enough to get them through winter with full bellies and light hearts?
And in years of plenty, when the gods of fertility smiled, the people rejoiced by eating, drinking, and dancing
themselves into a state it took all winter to recover from.
Mendoza's no different. While there's still some suspense about devastating late-summer hailstorms wiping out
the grapes, the Mendoza city authorities feel confident enough to plan the blow-out to end all blow-outs well in
advance of any bushnel-counting. That blow-out is Vendimia and it's the biggest event on Mendoza's annual
calendar.
"Vendimia" means "harvest time". festivities run for about three months, from mid-January to mid-April. While
it's ostensibly a grape harvest celebration, when it comes to enjoying the sponsor's product, there's very little
to be found. There's a lonely tasting tent erected on the end of the peatonal at avenida San Martin, but otherwise
the official vendimia has a decidedly fry feel. Forunately, Mendoza's better restaurants, bars and hotels come to the party
and offer punters plenty of opportunity to fall off a passing parade wagon if they so desire.
The festivities do however include all sorts of activities, grape-related and otherwise, such as free tango shows
and movies in the park, festivals of plums and tomatoes, horse racing, a vintage car rally and a very colorful
alternative Gay Vendimia. But the one they come from near and far to witness is the Acto Central, where lithe young
maidens compete to be crowned National Harvest Queen.

Familia Zuccardi Winery
A professional, far sighted operation, Zuccardi were one of the first wineries to embrace
wine tourism and the facility is one of the most visited wineries in Mendoza. That doesn't
mean to say it has succumbed to providing an impersonal service however. The guides are
always enthusiastic, knowledgable and eager to please. Tastings include samplings from the
tank and bottle as well as demonstrations of the winery4s extensive foray into micro-vinification
(experimenting with the most unusual grapes). The attractive restaurant amidst the vines
is famous for its asado-style lunches and ample supply of wine. Also on site is a well-
stocked gift store and art gallery.

My top restaurants list:
(p.s. I can reserve for you anyone of these
restaurants or wineries, when you e-mail me days and times you want them,
all from the comfort of your home and in advance of your visit here
with us.)
1) Francis Mallman's
1884 at Escorihuela winery. Phone: 4242698. OPEN ONLY FOR DINNER.
5) Francesco Barbera Restaurante Italiano - Chile 1268 (Between Espejo and Guttierrez -
1/2 a block from the Hyatt hotel) - Mendoza - Argentina - Reservations required..
Tel +54 261 4253912 - email: administracion@francescoristorante.com.ar
6) MI TIERRA. At last a restaurant that does flights and I don't mean of the airborne kind.
Mi Tierra is a wine-themed restaurant 2 blocks from Plaza Independencia. Their wine list offers a selection of
flights (3 wines by the glass) in a welcome opportunity to taste as much as possible without breaking the bank.
The building itself is a beautifully restored townhouse of tall ceilings and shuttered windows. Each room
is devoted to a particular winery, be it Norton, Catena Zapata, Chandon or Terrazas de Los Andes. The food
is excellent and service impeccable. Average price for a meal without wine per person : 30 pesos. San Lorenzo
y Mitre. Tel 425 0035.
7) PRAGA. Praga specialises in seafood and is undoubtedly the best retaurant in town if it is mariscos you are after.
Dishes such as shrimp chop suey, sea urchin or Spanish octupus are done with flair. The restaurant itelf is very charming
and romantic, set in front of a pretty plazoleta in the upscale 5th section (Quinta seccion). Inside there is an
atmospheric courtyard surrounded by a wooden timberframe. The delightful, Botero-style paintings are done by the
owner's wife and available to buy. The wine list is spectacular and the bottles stored in an airconditioned
side room. Try the Mendel Malbec 2004, a small boutique winery in Lujan de Cuyo. Average price for a meal without
wine is 40 Pesos. Leonides Aguirre 413 (on the corner of Avellaneda and Olascoaga) Tel 4259585, open Mon to Sat
from 8pm.
8) LA SAL. If you like ambience with a laid back atmosphere, try La Sal. The chefs at this classy restaurant
change the menu every three months so they can always use the freshest local ingredients of the season with
a mediterranean touch, composed by the chef himself. The wine list is extensive, maybe the best in Mendoza.
From Bodega Zuccardi's Santa Julia wine to specialties like Bramare Marchiori Malbec (rated 93 points by the Wine
Spectator), there is something for every palate and wallet. Live background music Wed-Sat, at pleasant
volume: bandoneon violin or flamenco guitar. Average cost without wine 40-45 pesos per person.
Belgrano 1069, Tel 420 4322, open Mon-Sat from 9Pm. Reservation recommended Fri+Sat.
